What is WeyShare? 

Weyshare is a library of things based at The Circular Shop in Lennox Street.


A library of things is like an ordinary library but with tools and appliances instead of books. People get in touch with WeyShare with donations of garden tools and other equipment they no longer use, our in-house expert repairer gives them some TLC, then we lend them to other people for a fraction of what they would cost to buy. 


Borrowing for a week for a small fee saves you money and helps the environment by stopping things going to landfill, which is bad for the planet and wastes the energy and resources that went into making them in the first place. Re-using stuff that works also reduces the overall purchase/consumption of new stuff. So does it make sense? Of course it does. Read on...


Become a Member!

We require borrowers to become members before they can begin borrowing. You can become a member of this website or come into the shop when we are open and we will do it for you. Memberships in this online system help us to manage the tool library and are a way for us to build a community of users, have a dialogue with them, get their feedback and let them know when we have new tools and services available (such as our repair service). Our membership fees, although small, also give us a regular income which keeps the shop open, serving the community and growing.


To become a member click 'Register' at the top of this page, complete the form, enter a password twice then click 'Register'. Before you can borrow a tool or appliance you will then need to choose a membership that suits your needs:

Membership options

  1. Free Temporary - lasts 14 days - Full Fee
  2. One Month - £2 - lasts 30 days - 20% Off Loan Fee
  3. Renewing Monthly Subscription - £5 per month (equiv. to £60 pa) - 50% Off Loan Fees + Priority Repairs
  4. Renewing Yearly Subscription - £60 one payment (equiv. to £5 pm) - 50% Off Loan Fees + Priority Repairs

A few benefits of monthly or yearly subscription

    • 50% off all tool and appliance loan fees all year
    • Priority repair and maintenance of your tools and appliances - you jump the queue, get a free assessment then pay for any parts and make an additional pay-what-you-want donation to the shop for the repair itself
    • You support the shop in its mission to provide useful sustainable, low-carbon, low-cost services to our community, to pay its staff, to recruit, train and manage volunteers, to develop new services (e.g. home energy advice and retrofit) and most importantly help us to survive and continue spreading the word about what we do and how we do it further afield to encourage sustainable growth of the The Circular Shop concept in other communities.

    Borrow!

    Becoming a member of WeyShare gives you access to our online catalogue where you can find loads of items from carpet cleaners to pressure washers, drill, saws and everything in between. You can currently borrow items for seven days with pick up and drop off times on Monday and Saturday mornings. Select the item you would like to borrow and pick a Monday or Saturday to come and collect. 


    Our shop premises are at 30 Lennox Street in the Park, District, Weymouth.
